Yet another first wedding C&C

Shot my first wedding this month and I'm hoping for some C&C to help me improve.

I had no real desire to shoot weddings, but a friend from high school really wanted us to do it. We did have all the right equipment (backups, etc..), but what a grueling day.

I have a ton of respect for those who choose to do this type work full time. It was fun though and we already have another wedding booked a year to the day from this one...

These are fantastic. This was your first wedding? You should probably reconsider your whole "no real desire" thing.

I agree. For a "first wedding" these are amazing, heck even for not a first wedding, these are really really good.

Nice...love your dancing girl and the wedding kiss..the anticipation , to ne is usually better than the mushy kiss... Wonderful eye !

First wedding? You did a great job of capturing the moment. Superb action and expressions!

I know you are shooting fast and furious but some of the framing is a bit off - the shots where we miss he edge of the knee or foot or dress could be improved by catching that little bit more in frame.

The dancing little girl and our little dude in front of the bride would work well as portrait shots rather than landscape.

Just a couple of thoughts for improvement.

But you have a superb eye for catching your subjects in the moment. There are a good number of people out there shooting weddings who are unable to catch the expressions and emotions you have here.

Nice to see the classic 35/135 combo in play! Not often you see #3 taken at 135 and I think it works fine as a horizontal shot.

I agree with the others. Great shots especially for a first wedding.

Thanks! I used a YN-560 in a softbox umbrella rig on a paint pole. I had one of our senior models shadow me with it all night. The ceremony pictures were natural light, but everything else was off camera flash.

Amazing really like them.

Excellent shots for a wedding, and especially for it being your first. Like others above me have said, you should reconsider your desire to shoot more weddings if you can find some enjoyment in it!
