Maybe it should not be a surprise. Some people like same day edits on the video. I am on the fence on this one. I have tried the laptop and did not really see a lot of interest. Probably because of my poor execution. A laptop on a plain table does not attract a lot of attention.

I like Phils idea a LOT. This means dragging in a monitor and the extra set up time.

The guys I usually second shoot for do same day edits occasionally, and it's a pain in the butt. We shoot RAW + JPEGs. Someone is constantly manning the laptop. So during the ceremony, we would have the laptop out editing getting ready shots. After the ceremony is over, files are copied to the laptop. As soon as we get to the reception venue, the editing continues. Mind you these are quick and dirty edits, you know, because our shots are usually spot on. ;):lol:

Then we display them on a monitor hooked up to the laptop. The few times that we did it, the guests really enjoyed it and it was a big hit. But it's an option that costs extra money so the request for same day edits have been extremely rare.
