I am looking for a portable studio background for multiple uses(Photo Booth, photoshoots, etc).
I really like the HiLite Box, but Im not sure if I want to invest $500 into that instead of more glass.
Can anyone recommend any other ideas or products?

I'm in the same boat as you at the moment. A quick search brings up:

This is probably the same backdrop I was looking at a couple months ago. Something not too large and cumbersome that I can set up real quick. Grab some shots while waiting for better light on location or what have you...About $70 on B&H.

There's also http://www.joeyl.com/blog/2010/11/ (external link)

Probably about $30 for a sheet of foam core. And lots of tape.
Now this I may lift straight from Joey himself. The people here in my town would probably sooner try to get me arrested if I tried this any other time of the year. But Halloween? I'm sure everyone would like a snap of the costumes they worked or paid for.
But for ultimate cheapness? I'm gonna try to convince my store manager(Target) if they'll let me take home a big board from any old signing sets. The back of these things are already white. Just spray paint the ad campaign side black and I'm good (photographically and legally).:D

Thanks
That first link looks like a good option, but I would prefer something that would reduce shadows like the hi-lite.
I will eventually get it, but would definitely like to have something to use in the mean time.
Any other suggestions?
