Whether they do or not, doesn't really matter as long as they are in the black as a whole.

I don't agree with that. Things aren't worth doing if you aren't going to do them right. That is not a sustainable practice. What happens when your copier competition flicks the innovation switch and shuts you down? Now you are really out of business.

If you aren't making money, get out. Plain and simple. In fact, I don't even want to buy your product if you aren't making money on my purchase.

We should just stop this convo here. It's not going to go anywhere and we are off topic anyways.....not that this thread has been on topic in a long time....

Just wonder what is the reason that you get back to your 7D, rather the 5D2?

Huh?

If you are asking why I sold my 5D2 and kept my 7D it's because of the 10-22 I have to use use for work. I tried the 17-40 on the 5D2 but didn't like the amount of barrel distortion......this was prior to me having LR3 (it removes it) My 5D2 was for everything out of work. I ran short of cash one month at the same time the whole Japan thing happened so I took advantage of that and sold the camera I had used for a year for only $200 less than I paid for it. I regret that every time I want to go out and shoot for fun. To be 100% honest I really won't go out and shot that much for fun until I get the extra cash for another 5D2. But more than likely I'll wait for the 3 at this point. The 7D is a outstanding camera, but the images do nothing for me compared to my old 5D2. To me the 7D images look like a great digital SLR. The 5D2's........like butter......in a good way

7D ......waiting on the 5D3

Obviously read my other post's too fast.
If everyone had that philosophy they wouldn't buy a PS3 and until recently an Xbox 360.
If every company had that philosophy Apple wouldn't exist, there was a time they were making $billion loses.

And I agree this is off topic, so I'm finished here.

So, to bring this whole conversation back on topic, the reason you should go full frame is so that the camera manufacturer can make more money on your purchase!

Would one shot taken with say a 7D be vastly better than one taked with a 5D II if both were taken bt the same photographer, same settings etc etc?

No, you read mine too fast, lol. :-) I said PS3 and cell phones are apples and oranges to this discussion. I said glass is a good example. If Canon sells cameras so they can make money on glass, both products of the camera division, good. Profitable.

Not copiers and cameras.... Sony makes the PS3 AND games....Apple gets paid by the cell companies and makes money from us on the non-phone products. The point is when Apple was losing money it wasn't their strategy. They wanted to make money so they built a better product and made a better case (ads) for them. That's not what I am talking about.

Well, that's even debatable....Did you miss rhys valid post that there very well could be a smaller margin (or none at all) on full frame sensors vs crops? Of course, given the lower tech body the FF sensor is in and the 1000 dollar premium it commands at the same time.....I doubt it.....Unless of course it is priced that way because we the buyer believe in the FF magic (and magic ain't free, my friend).....
