very nice, I wish I could have been at the races more than 1 day for pics to get some like this. Shame you have that fury(?) in the background. The bright white on the wing blends in with the white background on the forum, so the landing gear door looks like a different pic almost. Maybe try cropping through the middle of the wing? I dunno, its an interesting idea at least, just engine and canopy - like a race plane should be ;-)a

Nice! That's an impressive list of championships behind the canopy, but considering it's flown by Steve Hinton I guess it's not a surprise.

Beautiful shot. Strega is a really good looking aircraft. It,s hard to believe that Steven Hinton is a world class racer like his father. He looks like he should be hanging around the beach and surfing.

It's good to be (either) Steve Hinton...

I met him about 12 years ago on a layover at SNA, we went out to Chino and he had just landed a P-51 which we followed back to the museum area. He gave us a brief tour of the shop area where they were working on rebuilding an F4U Corsair. Charismatic, friendly, just a really cool person to take the time to let a couple of airline pilots to look around like that. One of those memories you will always remember.

Very nice shot of something we rarely see. I really like it.
