Perhaps the reason for the paint style edit of the other image?

I don't even know how it would be that fuzzy. Did you apply a soft focus effect? Blur? It doesn't look like Focus issue or light issue or anything... I don't get it. How did you do that? Is it on purpose?

This looks like it could be HDR. I can't really tell either way, but if it IS, then that explains the blurry subjects. People move, so the tonemapped image needs to be masked with one of the original photos so only one shot of the people is shown.

I have a couple of saved actions in photoshop that apply soft filters and add a bit of glow. That looks like what was done with this photo. A little too much for this one IMO.

For some reason, that half a statue in the background on the left is bugging me too. I don't know why, but my eyes go to that a lot rather than the couple....

OK everyone now i see what u mean by the other thread! i forgot i submitted this one. hes it is a soft focus photo with a Tiffen warm soft filter; also an older 28-105 lens which think is less sharp with the digital cameras, but has slightly more saturation... anyway i usually shoot both with and without filter but it started raining and didn't get the chance. sometimes if its too much i up the contrast slightly ... next time so soft focus for your guys!!

Looks to me the background is more in focus than the subjects.

This may be too obvious of a question, but...where is the mansion?
