Hi Mitch

How to put this nicely... I think your site needs a little work before you consider promoting it to anyone. The initial problems I found were:

  • the black on grey text on the home page is very hard to read
  • what's the reason for the big pink numbers on each page?
  • I couldn't get any of the galleries to display ANY pictures (in either Internet Explorer or Chrome)
  • only one link (Home) on the contact page appears to work
  • the 'contact' page (email address) just takes you to the 'Form' page
  • the Products page is ... umm... a bit of a dog's breakfast

If I may.....

I'm not liking the pink and green. As said before the dark text on the dark background is a bit tough to read. Best not to advertise a photography website sites with broken/non-functional links to the very pictures you are trying to show off. It kinda feels like I am walking into your studio through the back door and going through the store room to see the front of the store.

I think you are trying to do to much with slideshows and toolbars and stuff. I would keep it simple to get it off the ground and see where it takes you from there. You may find yourself putting hours into coding and frustration just to get something the way you want visually but find that it does not work on your site or fit you business needs.

Thanks for the feedback, it's strange that you can't see the pictures on my computer ,at home , my 3 laptops and at work it all works, all the galleries work, even on my iPhone it works, so I'm not sure what is doing there? Can you refresh your screen maybe I'm in Australia if that would make a difference? I'm going away for 3 weeks but when I get back I will change the said problems, and get back to you! Sorry about not being able to see the galleries it works on my computers so yeah, are your flash players up to date? Might have to change it from a flash gallery to something else gggrrr

Yep i know it 's rough as, thats why i'm asking for critique! Thanks for helping i've changed the writing and got rid of the form and the products page. I've made the the form page just the contact page so now it is just HOME/GALLERY/CONTACT way more simplified. I've used a website builder program from 'serif' so alot of the things of my site are just from the template.
Not sure why the galeries dont come up because they do on my computers

to be honest (i know this is your first website) but it does look extreamy amatureish for a college student learning the craft id say i wouldnt mind this for personal use but to actually use this to promote your photograhy i dont think it will do the job the way you hope.

what program(s) are you using to build the website?

1) also i generally agree pink + green writting just doesnt work.

2) you have to ''scroll down'' to get the last few sentences in on your front page i would personally make the writting smaller or format it in a different way so you dont have to scroll down, for this small amount of text a scroll (im being fussy) is quite off-putting.

3) your galleries do not work at all for me either. and when i put your site into http://validator.w3.org/ (external link) i get 30 errors and 1 warning.

4) once i go onto a link i.e. gallery, contact etc i can only press the home link the others appear to be broken.

5) i would personally re-design the front page either make your images the main focus or have the ''about you'' part as the focus is it stands my attention is split between images and text which is ok but it is after all,. all about your photography let the images speak for themselves.

Is your flash player up to date

if you are going to promote your photography i would personally stear clear of any Flash format (iphones/pads cannot use it as apple is a stubborn 12y'old). i knwo this isnt a ''biggy'' but alot of potential clients will probably be viewing on iphone/pad as thats the ''it'' thing at the moment (until people realise android is a zillion times better and isnt just eye-candy)

Thanks i'm trying to redo a few things as we speak.. Let you know when i get it finished, I'm not a photographer just an amateur trying to get my photos out there i guess. I use serif webplus x4. I'm not trying to be something i know i am not! I would however one day like to do photography as a full time/part time hobby when i retire.

NICE pictures for an amateur Photographer

i agree :)

I'm not trying to be something i know i am not! I would however one day would like to do photography as a full time/part time hobby when i retire.

thats fine and all but remember people who may have found you once may find you again its definatly worth the time investing into a good website with galleries available on every format of web device.

anywho as said above there's some great photo's there (especially for an amature) so do not sell yourself short!

anyway back on topic! it looks ALOT better now, its amazing at what a font colour change and no scroll bar(s) do to a site :).
However, i still think somethings not quite right or there's something missing but i cannot put my finger on what that is.

the only critism i can personally give now is i would like to see a proper logo/brand created for your photography :) the typface is ok but its not very memorable.

EDIT!!! - put the supercars into a ''motorsports'' catorgory and then make sub catorgories (or sub albums) for dates/events etc that way its abit more organised :)

Cool thanks for that dri, At least everyone seems to be able to see the pictures now! i had the 3 galleries Landscape, Portrait and motorsport, When i get back from holidays i'll put the motorsport photos into sub galleries, And try and do something with the main heading, I might have been trying to hard to get something chatchy and going way overboard, Might bring it back a bit, Not so full on!

Thanks again

Don't centre align text, its horrid. Keep your line length less than the width of the page. Its getting there!
