Okay, this is my first night football game ever and first time ever using a flash for sports besides basketball. I read as much as I could and I know practice will help improve but I guess I was expecting more. I've seen such great shots on here that I'm a little disappointed in myself.
Setup:
7D with a 70-200 f/2.8
Manfrotto 223B bracket
580exII
I shot the first half ettl and went manual second half
Things I learned:
1.Make sure the flash bracket is pointed up a little. I kept seeing that the grass in the foreground was brighter than the players.
2. Adjust the aperture between f2.8 to f4 at times because some parts of the field were brighter then other and I was blowing out the players.
3. I had better success with manual flash then ettl.
I welcome any help or suggestions for my next game.
