Is there a more cost effective way of replacing the foam than through Pelican? I bought a Pelican 1550 from a guy for $6, but it's used of course, and the foam is pretty much useless for what I want to use it for.

Otherwise it's in great condition though, so even if I have to get it through them it's still a good deal....just trying to save a buck or two...;)

Do you have a fabric/upholstery shop in your area? Many of them carry a variety of bulk foam products that you could size to your application.

Ebay. You can get some pretty good deals on the pick-n-pluck foam there.

Aye, I would rather go for those because they seem to be made for the cases.

The foam in upholsteries are different to the ones used in these cases

So I found a place to get some of the pull/pluck foam for $20....so I'll have around $30 in a used but not abused Pelican 1550. Thanks again for the tips. Now I just gotta figure out what I wanna put in there...;)
