Anyone go through this course?

I just started about 3 weeks ago and so glad I did! I can't believe how much I've learned about my camera, lighting, metering, colour, etc. Great fun!

Am curious how many others here have taken this "online course".

Are you talking about the New York Institute? It's been coming up recently:

If that's the George Seper one, then it's the same one that I did a couple of years ago here in NZ.
I found it really good and learnt a helluva lot.
The discount you get on student edition of Adobe CS almost pays for the course:D.

Stick with it, there's so much more to come and make full use of your pro tutor, they're a great resource.

Cheers, Paul.
If it moves, shoot it. If it shoots back, get a bigger lens.

Do you have a link to your course, my grandson wants to take an online course and I would like to see how it compares to NYIP. Most reviews I have read about NYIP says it's a decent course, but a little behind the times as far as course materials.

What do you mean by course materials? The only materials you'll get from PI are PDF manuals. You'll also need an 18% grey card, a printer, photoshop and lightroom. None of which are provided. You can download the 30 day trials for these when the time comes that it's needed and receive a student discount if you decide to buy.

PI doesn't give you anything else other than manuals. But the content is up to date.

I'm on my 2nd to last assignment which is building my portfolio... I"m at a stand still because I have no time to go out and take pictures for it.

Link to Course is (American: http://thephotographyinstitute.com (external link)) add .au at the end if you're NZ or Australian.

HOpe this helps

What do the student prices look like for the Photoshop programs? Just curious. I was thinking of giving this school a try.

I realize this thread has been inactive a few months....
