Canon MP600 - maybe a new printer ?

Hi chaps - I have an MP600 - had it 5 years + it's been pretty good but I'm really struggling to get a good quality print out of it, maybe the head's worn or something, I've done several deep cleans, am using pro glossy set to print 'fine' I've made test prints etc etc and am beginning to be concerned about how much ink I'm using to get it to work (I've always used canon ink) - so as printers are so cheap I'm happy to buy a new one (maybe a wireless) but I think I'd like to keep the old carts (I have about 7 unopened) or should I just cut my losses ? - any comments or recommendations very welcome ... many thanks Roger

I know nothing about the printer, so can only help by just saying -- if this is a "real photo printer" then it certainly can be worth it, but if it is a "consumer desktop home/office" printer then it would, in my opinion, be worth looking into a dedicated photo printer which is designed to not only deliver high quality prints but also to utilize high quality inks and papers that will give you the "best".
