I'm amazed at the diversity of Grasshoppers, until I made this image I had no idea!

Lovely capture- think your grasshopper may be a cricket (katydid) judging by the length of the antennae

Thanks Brian, I have a lot to learn about the insect world. By the way I made a variation on your flash diffuser out of foam core and vellum, works great.

I really appreciate all that you have contributed to the macro community.
