Last I checked, ATT and Verizon had one year plans for iPhone 4. But that was a while ago.

Pardon me for asking what may seem like a stupid question in this day and age, but if I get a smartphone, do I need a voice plan + data plan + messaging plan (e.g. unlimited text)? Or is it just voice + data, and text messaging is part of data plan?

Dont worry asking questions. Shoot them away :D

Text messaging is separate from data and voice. That is why the sprint deal is so sweet. As they offer all three unlimited at 80 a month.

Well it's not unlimited for all 3.

Voice is limited. It's unlimited mobile to mobile, but you are limited on minutes to land lines and such.

They are all seperate, but you are only required to have voice + data. If you want texting it's extra.

Okay, ATT no longer offers 1 year contracts, and the iPhone is not eligible for prepaid plans (no long-term commitment). Which means I am stuck with 2-years and ETF of $205 for 12 months.

Time to check Sprint and Verizon.

They are going to be just as bad.

Almost all carriers have moved to 2 year contracts, and ETF's of 375 (that are prorated) on smartphones.

You're right. Verizon has the highest ETF of them all. But at least they let me go month-to-month with no contract...for the full price of the phone, $749.99 (iPhone 4, which I assume means 4S will be higher). So actually, paying the ETF works out to be cheaper... the carrier wins, the customer loses either way.

ATT's ETF is the least expensive right now, though not by much. Sprint has the least expensive plan. Dangit, decisions...

Verizon confirmed no Samsung GSII. :(

So it's Sprint or ATT for you. Sprint has the better deal, but I'm unsure of their coverage and customer service quality.

Fricks, I think you need to polish it a bit more with Photoshop or LR... less contrast on it and show a little bit more detail on some areas :D

If Siri had a sexier voice...
I need Siri to compliment my own voice.
