Verizon and Sprint world phones ALL have Sim Card slots. Can I reasonably rely on the words of the hardware master? Will | WilliamLiuPhotography.com

It makes more sense if the 4S is not carrier locked, but then, I am not Apple or one of the U.S. carriers. It will be carrier locked, most definitely.

Or jailbreak.

New processor, same one as the iPad2, new antenna design, slightly better battery life, 8MP new camera sensor that's backlite that's about all that's new. The real news was Siri, the new voice interface for iOS. Will | WilliamLiuPhotography.com

I deal with our Verizon account at work, we have like 70-80 lines. We will be moving over to the iPhone 4s from Blackberries for our international travelers.

Most US based "World Phones" are meant to travel on domestic networks, so like blackberries, you are "Roaming" when you are international on the Blackberries and such. It's logical. I guess that's how they take even more money from the customers... Alex | flickr

Now... remember it will almost 100% positively be carrier locked, so like Moko said, it's very unlikely your parents can just toss a new sim card in when they are abroad, they will most likely be stuck using whatever carrier's international roaming options. I'll jailbreak it for them then... Will | WilliamLiuPhotography.com

I feel the same way, but I want to try it first before I judge, Apple usually doesn't release junk, at least not recently. Will | WilliamLiuPhotography.com
