I dunno how it works on your side but I think what you can do is register your business and then let your business buy YOUR STUFF from you :D that way you can claim tax deductions.

I dont think you should over look the 1D line yes the 1Ds is FF but for sports canon made the 1D cameras for professional portrait and wedding photogs they made the 1Ds line

Maybe... I don't know why I'm leaning towards the 1ds3 but for some reason i am. Probably just all the hype.

Once you register your business you should be able to deduct purchases for that year. You keep your receipts for proof/records. Equipment depreciation over the years may be deductible too. Others may be able to chime in since I'm no tax expert. :confused:
