I just had to restore my last backup.

I'm not sure exactly. But they sold some 1DIII's last year. They have a bunch of gear. They've used 5DII's in the past.

Some of their weddings did get rained out, other ones just went with the flow and had fun with the weather. Some of the pictures turned out really amazing. We had an insanely rainy summer and if someone didn't make alternative plans that was their problem.

Wow I would refuse to shoot a wedding if there wasn't a canopy and it was raining that hard. There is no reason I should have to risk my health and put a stop on my business do to filling an insurance claim and sending my equipment in for repair cause the B&G didnt have a plan in case it rained. Light rain is fine but they were soaked to the bone! maybe im just different....

I don't see how getting soak in the rain can risk your health you know... just take a good hot shower afterwards

Lee is a storm chaser in his free time... That should explain a few things.

Us Canadians are used to crazy weather. We had a three day blizzard and I was outside taking pictures.

Customer is always right. If you bailed when they were pushing through with the ceremony, you would be looking at a ****storm of bad publicity if the couple kicked up a stink. Bad online reviews, contacting local "action news", etc. May even take you to small claims court depending on the terms of the contract.

Worth it when (as a reputable business) you would have your gear adequately covered for such occasions? Plus you've got a contract to fulfill. Somehow, I'm pretty sure the photographer would bring up such concerns as soon as the topic of an outdoor wedding comes up. No bride/groom is going to agree to terms that don't cover poor weather conditions. Wedding party has enough to worry about on their big day--last thing they should be questioning is whether their photographer is going to determine that they don't feel like shooting on that day.

Was starting to wonder if you were still shooting--never see you talk about picture-taking. What camera do you use?

I don't totally agree with that, within reasons yes customers are right... but not Always.

but yes I think since the Photogs are the Pros, they should be the one to prepare for the unexpected and not the bride and groom. if it rains then they should have a plan on how to approach the wedding that way :D

you can still catch a cold or the flew or pneumonia or anything like that....which could cause you to loose business, have to brake contracts because you may not be able to function properly, You may slip and hurt your self etc so much can happen in the rain especially during a wedding only thing I think about is what moment is next..... not really to much about what im getting my self into... A lot of things go on at once so a down poor like that I would refuse........

Crazy Canooks lol...Dont get me wrong a rain can make some interesting photos but I'm not finacially stable enough to get my self into that last thing I would ever need is to have a $1200 lens crap out and a $2400 body crap out beyond repair due to water damage ya know

The business motto here is the customer is always right. In other words, you do your best to make them happy. Within reason. Not sure how it is over there--maybe more along the lines of "tough luck sucker"?

Again, this comes down to the contract. You are under contract to shoot for them on their big day. You don't just back out at the last minute if they're going through with it. What does that say for your work ethic and reliability if you say it's too much for you, while they're out there frolicking in dresses and suits? Do you think the minister is going to disappear because humidity makes his hair frizzy? No!

Well here's the difference. Lee is definitely financially stable. He's a gifted businessman and photographer. His parents work for him. Oh, and he's 25 years old.

same here Mo, we tend to entertain people very politely though and most of the time everybody is helpful and not snob, although you won't expect much after sales support at all, so if you have complaints most likely it will not be entertained
