ALEX!

Guess what Omar! Even though it said extra 1-2 weeks when I pre-ordered my iPhone, it already shipped and scheduled to be delivered tomorrow. Woohoo!

Since all the money is down there they have plenty of places to eat in such a close proximity. So it could be anything from sushi, to spanish food, to tai etc etc.

I envy you and your NY food scene! :(

I want some Nathan's hot dogs, and NY pizza, and Papaya King, and a bunch of other delicious eats.

Alex, all the planning is done, bought the domestic and international tickets, I bought all the necessary photographic gear I need and famous too. we basically are just waiting to leave

for the destinations we have figured it out already and Kyoto is not part of it due largely to costs we will just explore Tokyo and nearby places for now

Sounds good Steven! You can always do Kyoto next time.

I wonder if your plane tickets are expensive compared to ones fyling from the U.S. I think it's cheaper because you are closer, but I might be wrong.

Which of your gear are you taking along?

doesnt take too long to get to yokohama, i think you just need to transfer 2-3 times on the train. forgot how long it took.. 45min-1.5hr

There's also a chinatown in yokohama too.

Omg, there is a ramen museum in Yokohama? I've always wanted to visit Yokohama, but that's added incentive!! I'm definitely going there next time I visit Japan. :)

I bought it for $550 round trip each... :D I dunno but I think its the cheapest as far as I know... Delta Airlines.

Gear?
D700
Sigma 12-24mm
16-35mm f/4
50mm f/1.8D
70-200mm VRII
2x TCIII
20pcs AA batteries
flash
Tripod and my beloved filters
and a few others...
but I might just leave the Sigma at the house and just bring the three lenses with me :D

GF just received her Nex-C3, which will act as my back up camera as well:lol:

I feel for you. I really do. They are, without doubt, the WORST airline ever! :D

Agreed. I wouldnt care if they allowed me to throw the damn thing into a folder  That tells me a lot of people couldnt find (or weren't computer literate enough) to find downloaded videos where they used to sit. So they split it out for those reasons.

My video icon is in a folder.

You can't put the stinking newstand icon in a folder though... it's bugging the crap out of me.

I lie, those local African airlines are the worst. Went on one once, never, ever again.

Delta is terrible because it has the oldest aircraft - you get into their aircraft, and you have just hit the twilight zone - you are back into the 9070s - they also have utterly horrible customer service, and the whole feeling of flying with them until you land is just a nightmare.

You get what you pay for.

I dunno but my other option is Philippine Airlines and I think they don't have much better planes than Delta either and lots of protesting going on lately...and cancelled flights. other airlines are more expensive by $200 or so each so I will end up spending $400 more for the two of us.

and I am used to non-existent customer service as well  I just hope we don't get delayed much :(

I saw the inside of a 747 for an African airline at a repair facility in Mexico once. I was shocked at how crammed the seats were inside. I mean like twice as many compared to an Western airline. I was told they do that for pilgrimage and pack the plane full of people. It was being repaired in Mexice since it's not allowed in the US at all.
