How does this sound to you guys, acceptable terms? They're for a competition run by a fairly large bank here in the UK.

"15. We may use any entrants name, entry photo and story for our publicity purposes, this could include:
a. In our internal and external advertising, now or in the future;
b. Displays in our branches;
c. Exhibitions in galleries in and around Scotland;
d. Web-site and other digital content

16. By entering, entrants confirm that they hold copyright to the submitted entries. Entrants will retain copyright in their submitted entries. However, by entering, all entrants grant members of the Lloyds Banking Group* an irrevocable, worldwide royalty-free, nonexclusive, perpetual licence to use, reproduce, edit, crop, re-size and publish each entry in any and all media (including print and online), for the purposes outlined in clause 15, above, solely and exclusively for publicity and advertising purposes now and in the future. In exercising the rights granted by such licence, we will acknowledge, where possible that the photograph is the work of the entrant in all cases."

Pretty standard conditions for competitions. A good way for companies to obtain a vast collection of royalty free images for their marketing department.
BBC also has similar clauses just for sending them images.

The "where possible" just means don't expect us to acknowledge your work at all.

Yeah, I now why they run these things. I think them not actually 'owning' your photos is about the best deal you're going to get these days.

Ain't going to enter anyway.

Yup, probably leans on the "good" side of contest rules - unfortunately this isn't much of a contest if a bank is running it, just a way to get people to send in free images and not hire a photographer - because hey, banks don't have any cash!
