I'm trying to organize my pics on my hard drive using DPP, and I notice that when you right clic on a folder in the folder view a menu appear but there is not option to create a new folder in this menu. This leads me to switch continously between windows explorer to create the new folders and DPP to move the pics in the new created folders.
Let's hope this small but useful option will be added in a future version of DPP...

I'm using a Mac. If I select folder view and right click on the Macintosh HD icon it will open a dialogue box and I can create a new folder. You can click on any folder and create a sub folder. Not sure how PC works. Been too long.

I just switched to my PC. I have not opened DPP for years on my PC. Looks like you are right. Someone else may know how.

you can create the new directory but it's not under the mouse menu. Click on file and there is an option to create folder.

Not sure why, but call me JJ.

Thank you very much.

Holy Cats! I never knew you could do that. I've been using DPP for 4 years now. I just assumed it couldn't do that since it never could under Windows (correction, I re-read, and seems like it does but without the click). I'm on a MAC these days and that is very useful. Thanks!

Interesting -- you can't right-click and get the New folder option in my Windows version, but you can get it in the File menu.

When you right-click you can also get the Explore option, which opens a "mini-version" of the Windows file explorer, but again you don't get the right-click New->folder option and again, you have to do a File/New->Folder to do the deed.

Select the parent folder where you want to create a new folder. Then go to file up top menu and choose create new folder.

Yup, as I said in the previous post, that function is available in Windows. Too bad the simple right-click is not, especially since it is available in Macs.

It's a conspiracy between Canon software developers and Apple. They cripple Windows versions in hopes of forcing us to convert into Mac addicts.
