600d & Sony Vegas

Hello everyone
I have a few questions and any info would be greatly appreciated.
I have just upgraded from a 400d to the 600d and also got myself Sony Vegas 10 pro(£24.99 from amazon)
What is the best setting to render for a home DVD ?
I won't be uploading to YouTube etc just family movies.
Also how do you burn onto a DVD from Vegas 10 or would I require additional software ?
