I recently opened a studio; I have been doing all my touchup with Photoshop elements9. I’m not bad but would like to learn a lot more, so I have been looking at classes at the local collage, my question is should I upgrade to cs5, or is it worth the money for what I am doing, I mostly just take family, senior and kid pictures.

Try downloading http://www.adobe.com …dex.cfm?product=photoshop (external link) the trial version of CS5 and see what you think. If you want to do really advanced editing, you'll need CS5; for basic photo editing, Elements should be fine.

Some Canon stuff and a little bit of Yongnuo.

Don,t forget that if you go to college you may be eligible for the student discount on CS5, that makes it a bit less than half price (ish). So I would wait for a bit and see what you end up doing and in the meantime do what stsva says and try the trial version.

What troutfisher said is correct. If you enroll at a college for a photoshop class, you can get the student/teacher version for around $160 (you just need to send Adobe a scan of your student ID).
