just took my first snaps with the 24-105, holy wowness..... very impressed...

couldnt be happier with my decision!

really? I have one and i don't find it impressive...

Nothing beats a fast prime imo :D

yeah, considering you have a 50 prime and the 100 macro ... that's a compliment indeed.

(im also looking at this lens and i previously had the 24-70L)

i had the 24-70 before, sold it, thought the 50 could cover that just fine especially being faster, but eventually, needed zoom, and boy do i have it now :P

my first shot was of my reef tank and over 3 months of shooting i think its the sharpest ive seen yet lol

i stood right infront of my fish tank and got a wide view, with the 50, its weird i had to stand like 6-7 feet further back

Absolutely love my 24-105 on crop and full frame....and yes mine is also sharp!


6D, 5D, 7Dii, Eos R and too many lenses, flashes and aux. gear to list!:cool:

yea, but thats just the difference between 24mm vs 50mm....

i think what Scott Tsui is trying to say whether 24mm on crop (38mm FoV) is wide enough for general use.

it will b for my taste... i prefer the L range vs say 17-55...

that would be subjective. what's wide for him, might be narrow for you and vice versa.

fair enough, guess it's all about compromise.

24-105 has the range, slightly better build and weather sealing.

17-55 is wider, sharper and f2.8...

Versatile and sharp on FF and 1D. My favourite walk-around zoom. It's never on my 1.6 crop. You can draw your own conclusion
