Recently I began a search for a Canon 1d mkii or IIn. I pm'd a lot of sellers on both POTN & FM. the first thing I noticed was a lack of pictures and links to sites that went nowhere. How does anyone expect to sell anything, let alone something that costs
$ 1,000.00. Without showing potential buyers the condition of the item.
next is the lack of response to pm's. I found myself simply getting pissed off when a seller took their sweet time to respond, especially when they post "if you need pictures, just pm me". If you want to sell an item , respond to the potential buyers. I found myself thinking that If a seller won't respond to a pm, I refuse to buy from them.
Last. If you sell an item, mark it as sold and lock the thread!
I found a 1d mkiin on Fm which took about 10 minutes to close the deal.
You would think that with the current economy potential sellers would be a little more diligent regarding their sales.

Al

Tons of stuff gets sold so something must be working ok. I don't expect the seller to be sitting at their computer waiting for pm's. I personally would look at my pm's once in the evening.

I agree. but don't post your item, neglect to include pictures, then say "PM me for pictures". Why not just post pictures in the beginning.

you could always just buy your used stuff from KEH or Adorama, and be done with the transaction in about 60 seconds.

what do you need? 1ds, 1dmii, 5d, 40d for sale. which one do you want, i can send you full pictures.

i never have a problem with buying or selling anything anywhere, but then again i have a business sense. maybe that is what you lack and blame it on others instead of asking yourself if you are doing something wrong. not saying that you do, but it's very likely.

i see you didnt even make an effort to post in the "want to buy" section. can you explain your lack of effort there? ignorance or incompetence? no offense, but it's got to be one of the two, and ignorance isn't a bad thing, nor is a lack of competence. we all work on it each and every day, though some struggle with it more than others.

But help me help you figure your root issue that is influencing this mindset.

I can think of a couple good reasons not to post pictures to begin with:

1.) Costs money to get your webhost slammed by uninterested browsers
2.) Pictures get stolen by scammers and spammers for use on eBay ;)

Did you ever consider the fact that maybe they just were not interested in selling to you? You come off rather whiny, I can only imagine the pm's you sent.
