I let myself get talked into going to Sky Pond again since we had such a great hike the first time. This time though, we were at the Loch for sunrise, took a bunch of shots and then continued up to Sky Pond.

Thanks for the comments everyone! They are very much appreciated.

One more from Sky Pond. This is a non-HDR which I processed soley with a new exposure blending technique I've been playing with. You can read more about it here.

Well done. It also tells me how well you processed the HDRs.

You are a step ahead of me :) - I have been trying to do the same thing. Am comparing Mark's method to the blending methods of some of the HDR packages.
Nice capture on the one above BTW...nice detail.

I'm curious Jon, are you blending all 7 exposures using that technique or only three?

And I agree, nice job on the last one too.

Thanks Bill & janok!

Spike, my first impressions are that it is another tool for the toolbox. There are some shots HDR works better and some that the Luminosity masks work better. Ghosting for example has no compensation using masks unless you are going to completely rely on one shot for the area where there's movement, which may not be possible without a lot of cloning. On the other hand there are no halo's produced going the LM route. There are other issues too with contrast and other things. It's definitely not as simple as his example would imply. That said, he does offer some really neat tricks and I suggest thoroughly exploring his web site.

Gene, I've played with so many shots to this point, I honestly don't remember how many it was, but it was less than 7. I'm guessing 4 or 5. The more you use the better the range obviously, but the more problems you create with contrast. It may be that 3 is the magic number and that it wasn't an accident that's what his example had.

Thanks Tyler. I LOL'd when I read your post. Email me your list and I'll see what I can do. ;)
