Shot with a 186 LED shop light purchased from Home Depot.

Shot at 8:00pm
6X30 second exposures
F-14
ISO 100
6 Exposures Layered in Photoshop some burning and dodging.

I know the crop and the car placement are less then desirable. I was just testing out the light source and it was my first attempt at light painting.

Here it is:

I dig it. I even like the garage open behind it.

The garage makes it look like an advertisement, great job. You should send it Mazda, see if they use it

The lighting shows up the lines of the car rather well. And the garage does make an interesting shot rather than distract I think.

I love the light on the car, especially the middle body-line crease, just awesome. But I can see that you've made more than one pass with the light-source, and that hurts it a bit. What you need to do is make one pass close to the car to get a style-line, then back up and wave the light source like a wand, which will give you the overall light that you need.

Overall excellent first try.

the 1 thing that bugs me about this photo is how close the car is to the edge of the frame on the right side... other than that, great shot!

That looks pretty good. Next test it with a white car & then a black car. ;)

Yep Mechanics light. Husky brand at Home Depot. It's square and red. Give it a try. It's addicting.

As far as I am concerned they do not make cars in those colors :D

Dale, looks like the experiment went well for the first time :D

I've noticed that a lot of people only seem to have silver cars where they live! I wonder why that is? :D
