I just bought a Bogen 3001D with 486 ball head, the case for this is $40, I was wanting to purchase something of less cost. That will fit nicely. The interier dimensions for the Bogen is 5.1 -5.9 X 27.5" (13-15 x 70cm). I was looking at a Sunpak medium tripod case for $10 that the interior dimensions are 27" by 5". Anybody know if this will work/fit nicely-not too tight--- Anybody use this for their Bogen or similar ?? ? I also seen on B&H a Smith & Victor tripod bag for $12.50 maybe it is nicer than the Sunpak. If you have any suggestions, let me know. Thank s! :)

When Spring rolls around, you can go to Wal-Mart and plunk down $15 or so for a steel tube and canvas folding chair. They come with bags that your tripod would fit in. Now, if you planned to spend $15 or more for a bag you should realize that you can get a free chair too.

Accually, I have already been eyeing up my kids Spiderman chair bag case, but it is too long, and too much space inside. Maybe some other chair bag's are better, I need to check it out. I guess I am willing to pay about $15 for a snugger fit, but just not $40.

I bought a ProMaster bag for my tripod. Was $17.00 at the old neighborhood camera shop. It's just a tad big for my stuff (a coupe of inches in length) but very nice - good quality. Don't know who would carry them in your area though.
And it didn't come with a free chair - lol

I tried some bags at the local camera shop here - too big or too flimsy. But, I ended up buying non branded - but a very solid, right sized bag for about 25$. Even the 'official' case for this combo is a bit bigger than it needs to be - think its made for the biggest combination of the 3001 with any head.

How about this turn the bag inside out and give it a few stitch to shorten it up. orjust fold over the end and use a few safety pins to hold it in place.

Thanks for your replies, sounds like I can get a bag that is not exaclty the same dimensions as the Bogen bag, this is good, leaves me some options, I may look on Ebay or whenver i get to a local camera shop, quite a ways from my house. Thanks for the info. I may still end up mending my spiderman bag if I cant find anything else.
