LR and Exporting JPEG to External HD

Hi,

I want to export a RAW file as a JPEG - to an external drive (K:\) but it does not show up in the "export to specific folder". It seems to only allow exporting to the C: drive?

Can I export to an external HD?

Sure you can, you just have to make sure the drive shows up on your system.

Then, in the Export dialog, in the Export Location, click Choose and navigate to the drive and choose a "parent folder" (or create one). You can then choose to export to a sub-folder that LR can create "on the fly".

LR and Exporting JPEG to External HD

Hi,

When I go to "Export" I cannot see my external (K:\) HD as an option to save to.

Anyone know why this is? Only the C:\ drive shows as an option - even when I open the drop down menu (under Export Location "choose")I can see it fine for importing into LR.

F5 has no effect and the path is not editable.

When you open your system file browser, does the drive appear?

Sometimes external drives can act a bit goofy. You may need to restart LR if you can see it in the system browser but not in LR...

You can also try "rebooting" the hard drive -- unplug the power and USB cable, plug the power back in and then the cable.

This is contradictory.

In the Export Location select "Specific Folder" and a button called "Choose" will appear. In the navigation box that opens expand 'Computer'.

Hi Tzalman,

Unfortunately I do not have that Computer option (which is what I need in order to select that other drive) I do not know why this is the case - I have done all the reboots/restarts etc.

All I get is whats under my Desktop. I will post a pic this evening - unfortunately I am work right now.

Hi,

So as you can see if I import into LR I can see my external (k:\) drive. But if I want to export to the K:\ drive it isn't visible? This sucks!!

Sorry about that. Yes I do have permissions and have never had a previous problem saving to the K:/ drive.

Yikes! I don't see the My Computer selection -- that's where your folder should show up.

I just got an answer from Adobe:

It seems that having too many Icons on your desktop is the culprit. Anyway it worked for me.
