New England stone mill

I got up early Sunday morning to get to a nearby stone mill before the tourists and sightseers arrived. It was overcast and started raining right after I arrived. This is one of the better shots. 7D, EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 at 24mm, shot at 0.5 sec, f/5, ISO 200. Comments and criticisms welcomed.

Nice. Just the right speed for the water. Good job, there. Too bad the weather was kind of dismal or your shot would have really popped! Pretty place and nice subject.

Thanks for the comments. This is in Sudbury, Massachusetts, across the street from the Wayside Inn. The Inn was made famous by Longfellow in his beloved poetry book "Tales from the Wayside Inn" and is reportedly the oldest continuously-operating inn in the United States.

The mill was restored by Henry Ford in the 1920's and was used as the design for the Pepperidge Farm logo. It is still in use and prepares about 10,000 pounds per year of stone ground flour for use in the Inn.

I'm planning on returning over the next several mornings to catch that day when the leaves have turned the brightest.

That's a nice shot; but I might tone the red down just a HAIR, as it looks kind of blown out on the wheel.
