Sharpness of 70-200 f4 vs 70-200 f4 IS (5D II)

Sup fellas, about to pull the trigger on a telephoto zoom lens for my 5D II. IS isn't that important to me, but I've read that the sharpness, color, and bokeh of the IS version is significantly better than the non-IS version. Those aspects are very important to me.

Have you guys found similar findings when using both lenses, or is the only significant difference literally the lack of IS?

I've had both, and IMO, they're as far apart in terms of IQ as people make out. The IS is better, but you have to pixel peep to notice any real difference. As you can see, I've now got the non-IS, because the IS, again IMO, is not worth double the price.

I prefer the IS only because I need the IS, not because of differences in sharpness or color, which exist but are insignificant for most people.

Another thought is to grab the 200mm f2.8 prime... but I think I'd be restricting myself when it comes to framing. I love prime lenses, though.
