And why wouldn't Discover cashback apply to the cost of the refurb? Wouldn't you get the same $100 off the refurb, dropping it to $2000 ? What am I missing?

If you've ever bought a Canon refurb, you know that the lenses are basically new. You will not be able to tell them from new and you get a 90 day warranty with them. Also, if you have a American Express Rewards card, if you buy through www.bonuspointsmall.co​m, Amex will give you 3x the points. They will redirect you to Canon's website, and you just have to pay with your amex card

I've been wanting the 70-200L MKII for some time, but just wasn't willing to pay full retail for it, so I've been watching the Refurb site diligently for last 3 months and it's never shown up (I have the refurb site set as my home page, so every time I open a browser it loads what is in stock). But imagine my surprise when today I open up my browser and not only see the 70-200L MKII, but the 35L as well ! In fact, most of the L lenses were in stock, which is a rarity these days (most of the time, only limited amounts were in stock)
