You can still get a 3% cashback with Mr Rebates on Canon Direct Store which adds up a good $60 off for a $2000 purchase.

If you have not signed up you can use this link:

Canon Store 3% off with MrRebates (external link)

***Disclosure: I will get a referral bonus if you use this link but it will not cost you a penny! If you don't feel comfortable you can always type the website on your browser ***

Buying the lens with your Amex card (using their www.bonuspointsmall.com (external link)) site (as I indicated with my original post) will net you 3x the points. So for $2100 spent, you will get 6300 pts (which is effectively $63 off the price of the lens)

Where are you finding the $100 cash back? To my knowledge, Canon hasn't ran any rebates on the 70-200L MKII ?

Discover cashback.. 5% of say $2375 => $2250 :cool:

Wishlist: Canon EF 2x III Extender, Sigma 30mm 1.4, 5D II or III (Not for another year or so  :p), 7D (To replace my 60D), Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L and some more primes

B&H has a few unique factory refurbs in stock right now such as the 500 f4 IS, 300 f2.8 IS, and 400 f5.6.

And why wouldn't Discover cashback apply to the cost of the refurb? Wouldn't you get the same $100 off the refurb, dropping it to $2000 ? What am I missing?

Hurry now, because Canon has just made alot of refurbs available (as of 6:30 Central Time), including the 70-200L MK II and 35L, both of which are almost NEVER in stock (especially the 35L). Here are just some of the many available

http://shop.usa.canon.com …1_-1_22751_highPrice_list (external link)#

70-200L MKII $1999
http://shop.usa.canon.com …uct_10051_10051_275764_-1 (external link)

85L $1759
http://shop.usa.canon.com …uct_10051_10051_275771_-1 (external link)

24L $1399
http://shop.usa.canon.com …uct_10051_10051_222024_-1 (external link)

50L $1295
http://shop.usa.canon.com …uct_10051_10051_275772_-1 (external link)

35L $1183
http://shop.usa.canon.com …uct_10051_10051_282315_-1 (external link)

If you've ever bought a Canon refurb, you know that the lenses are basically new. You will not be able to tell them from new and you get a 90 day warranty with them. Also, if you have a American Express Rewards card, if you buy through www.bonuspointsmall.com (external link), Amex will give you 3x the points. They will redirect you to Canon's website, and you just have to pay with your amex card

I've been wanting the 70-200L MKII for some time, but just wasn't willing to pay full retail for it, so I've been watching the Refurb site diligently for last 3 months and it's never shown up (I have the refurb site set as my home page, so every time I open a browser it loads what is in stock). But imagine my surprise when today I open up my browser and not only see the 70-200L MKII, but the 35L as well ! In fact, most of the L lenses were in stock, which is a rarity these days (most of the time, only limited amounts were in stock)

Canon is not a affiliated retailer for Discover's cashback. jr.com is :)

How much is that once you add in taxes? Just wondering about real savings versus getting from B&H or Adorama with no taxes.
