Can anyone here tell me how to get the two smaller windows in the attached picture, to appear?
I came across a HDR video tutorial by Googling "HDR Imaging in Photoshop Elements 6" which took me to a Youtube video.
I was able to follow step for step up until he clicked on the "open image" step at the 2:10 mark.
Up until that, my screen looked exactly like his on the video but, when I clicked on the "open image" tab, all that came up on my screen was just the single image of the raw file I was working on. All the tool options at the top and on the left of the screen are there but not the two smaller screens.
Is there a setting I have to activate to get these two smaller screens to appear?
I assume it has something to do with layers?
I'm just starting to explore more of what Elements 6 offers other than just the very basic stuff and, I have the Elements 6 The missing Manual Book but, can't find anything in it that deals with HDR in much detail.

Well, yeah, you are seeing the Layers palette with the Navigator/preview.

I don't know about Elements, but in CS3 they are found in the Window menu.

Also, the keyword shortcut for the Layers palette is F7 -- give it a try and see if it works in Elements!

Also, these things are "sticky" so that once you open them they will stay until you close them.

You are right about the navigator/preview being in the window menu.
When I clicked on that, it brought up the navigator window.
Took me a while to figure out how to get the layers window.
I didn't know that by clicking on the layers tab on the right side of the screen, it could be moved into the main part of the screen of the image being worked on.

F7 doesn't appear to work in Elements 6.
I tried it by itself and combined with ALT and with CTRL.

Thanks for your help.
