What do you think?

I'm not sure how to get the picture to display live on this forum.

I'm really surprised that no one has bothered to comment on your excellent image. It is very very good.
Only point I would try to fix is the leaf on the bottom and the fern on the right are overexposed.
Not difficult to select them and darken them without affecting the rest of the image.

I always thought that only butterflies sat with their wings together. However our local expert Rel told me once that some moths do sit like this, as you have proved.

About getting pics on, you must first load them to another web site as you have done.
Now if photopic.net will allow you to do it, you can
use their address when you add a topic to this site.
Go to HELP for details.

If photopic will not let you do this, usually your ISP will let you upload pics and use that url.

Assuming photopic agrees, this is what your address should look like.
I use spaces so as not to confuse the Canon site's computer. You would NOT have any spaces at all.

Note: NO spaces. Use [these brackets not as shown.]

Your moth pic is excellent. I hope you show more....
even on photopic's site.

I appreciate your comments. I'm just now going to get started in Photoshop so I'll experiment with the photo as you've suggested. I have tried adding the syntax you suggest to display the photo live, but when I add that, it just shows an icon for some reason?!

Thanks again.

Kip

Hmmm ... I thought for sure I had commented before on this pic. Odd - have I seen it elsewhere?

Well, regardless, as Eland says, it is an excellent macro shot.

If you can't embed your pics, it is possible that your host site does not allow such linking. You will have to live with providing the link.

Cheers,

Mitch

Or use your ISP's web space :)
Or like pbase, they may want you to pay a small annual fee.

I haven't posted it anywhere else. I took this phot at the Detroit Zoo. This "Owl" Moth was at least 5 inches tall. Very nice specimen.

Yes, I'm sorry I missed this one - it's a great photo. If the moth is 5 inches, i'd hate to run into the mosquitos ;)

Regards,
Peter
