So for instance if you have 5DII file at full resolution typically you want the run the high pass filter at 3 pixels or so. For online images .5 pixels will work. Even if you over sharpen in the mask you can use opacity to blend the output and sometimes I will over sharpen and then blend rather than not have enough information in the mask to create a sharpened effect.
