We raised prices last year because with expenses, we just weren't making any money on our lower cost pkgs. We're going a la carte pricing (with some "collections" that I'm willing to present at an intial meeting). The newbies with cheap albums scare me a little bit too. We have 2 weddings booked for next year (on the same weekend) and I'm starting to sweat the bills.
We have a Basics collection that includes 2 photogs for 4 hours and a dvd of retouched inages.
a Your Day collection with an online gallery and multiple dvds
Soup to Nuts includes all day, dvds, online gallery, and an album credit
Super Deluxe includes all of the above plus thank you cards, engagement session, custom guest book, parent album credit, canvas wrap, etc.
the price points reflect the level of coverage well, but I think everyone is down. I've talked to florists and venues whose bookings are down too. I just don't understand this waiting to book thing that bride's do.
