While working a Soccer game today I had 4 new Sandisk 16gb 60mb/s cards fail miserably.

During the shoot I got the same error message on two separate 1Dmk III's once the cards were half full.

Cards not formatted etc etc,

I tried recovery software but it doesn't find any files??

Cards were purchased in NYC @ Adorama, they are legit..

anyone experience similar issues, I'm thinking a bad batch??

Thanks

Nothing shows up in recovery, I'm hoping Sandisk can recover something.
I just bought a 300mm 2.8L IS so I can land this sports contract and the second job I shoot is lost!

Strange coincidence that the other guy had problems also. Sounds like Sandisk is having some troubles.

Wow. Thats nuts! Never heard of such a thing! FOUR cards?! Return them all! Do the 1d3's even support UDMA? Maybe try some none UDMA ones. Hopefully those will be from a good "batch".

4 cards in the same camera sounds like the camera is causing the issue IMO...

Have a word with Helen Oster on these forums, she's the resident Adorama rep and is very helpful. If you're trying to recover the data, you may well go past/void Adorama's return policy. She may be able to do something about this so you can try to recover your data as well as get your money back.

Also, what recovery program did you try using?

Have you tried recuva? Its free and I've used it when I've deleted files accidentally before, though have never tried it after a disk failure.

Edit: I see you've already contacted Helen, nevermind about the first part of my post then :)
