Hey
This is the place where i have been living for a couple of years. It is a community where we live and work together with people with special needs and, to be honest, i am having a wonderful time here.
But, like all good things, in some months it will be over because i will have to move out.
So i have been thinking about making some photos around here and, if they come out nicely, offer some nice prints before i leave (kind of like goodbye present).

So, this is the first photo. It is a photo of one of our houses (actually the one where i have been living) and, as you can see, it was taken now during "Autumn color season".

What do you think about it?

I am really interested in having your opinions and ideas on how to make this photo better.
I have thought already about cloning the cars out of the picture.

Do you think this would look ok as a print?

Well, let's see if with your help i can get my first photo worthy of a wall!

Thanks
=)

Looks good, I like it.

Yeah just get rid of those cars and the little white thing in front of the bush that is in front of the house, whatever it is. :)

I like it. Three more for the other seasons and you've got a nice set for your walls.

I do think that you could do with a little less sky. Try getting rid of the cars by cropping just to the left of the two large trees. The trees on both sides would then serve as an uncluttered frame for the house. That would take the house off center, which might be more interesting visually.

Hey, thanks. i think those were nice improvements to do to the image.
I wanted to crop a little bit less on the left side, but then there were some strange branches hard to clone out, so, in the end, i cropped a bit more than planned.
Maybe it was for the best, like this the crop puts the house in a more "3rds rule" friendly position! ;)

I should have a camera with more megapixels so i could crop away and not to loose much detail! ;S

Is it now looking better?

Any other ideas?

Did you do anything other than crop? It seems like there is considerably less detail in the house and trees in the crop. Also, it seems a bit... brighter in the crop.

I do prefer the crop composition though and I think it is a nice photo (I quite like the original as well, more space around the house, but the cars had to go). How many MP do you have? I think that the photo might look quite nice blown up large.

i also noticed the "loss of detail" in the trees. But i don't know where it comes from... :S I thought that maybe it was just from the "zoom" in photoshop. At 100% it is much less noticeable...
But the only thing other than cropping was adding a bit of darkening in the bottom corners.

I use a Canon 400D, so i should have 10MP, but after the crop i get a 2966 × 2383 and 5.9mb image ( i don't know what that means in pixels).

I would also like to make a print of it to offer it to the owners of this place...

I like the original photo much more and think you should clone out the cars rather than crop the photo. The original gives more of a sense of the surrounding grounds. Maybe darken up the yellow trees and blue sky just a tad - it seems a little too bright.

I also like the original better. Cloning out the cars should be a simple fix without changing the original image.

original picture for sure. If anything, only crop a little bit of the top of the image to eliminate some of the extra blue space to make it look a little more wide.
but really the first one looks good.

I think they will be thrilled with this image. I like the original as well, as the sky and trees are so pretty. I'd probably crop it a tiny bit, just enough to "lift" the house up a bit from the bottom of the frame. Great job. Remember, this will be enlarged and that will make a huge difference when viewing it. Right now, we are seeing it on monitors at a smaller size than the print will be...
