Hi All,

Am I losing it?

I could have sworn I could zoom-in on the preview moments after taking a shot...instead I have to wait until image goes away and hit play, then zoom in on my XT

I didn't install the latest firmware yet.

Thanks!

On my XT, I just pressed play while the review was up, and then zoom in. The quick review after a shot isn't the same as pressing the playback button. However, I've noticed on a couple cameras (whether the firmware was old or not, I don't know), that you have to wait until it's done writing the shot to the card to playback and zoom in on it.

yeah i was just wondering about this yesterday,
is there any way to change a setting which would allow me to just hit the zoom in button to start zooming in on a pic i just took...
this would allow me to only use my right thumb....
hopefully there's a way

Thanks guys.

It works as mentioned above....after writing to card, I hit the play button and then the zoom works.

It does not work if image is done writing to the card and hit zoom...no go. But I could have sworn it did....I'm getting too old for this stuff. Where's my Deardorff...

When you're taking pictures, pressing the zoom in or out button will correspond to the focus point settings or the EV settings. By pressing the playback button you're telling the camera that you want to view the image and then the zoom in/out function will work.

Where's your left hand that you can't press that playback button?

you may have changed the preview delay to a short time, or to off.

I think my preview time is eight seconds and the image writes to card in a couple of seconds. But I guess I still have to press play before I can zoom in.
