My XP crashed and I performed a non-destructive restore to get up and running. Once I did that Photoshop will not allow access. The message I get is: Your Adobe Photoshop user name, organization, or serial number is missing or invalid. The application cannot continue and must now exit.

I have CS and updated to CS2. I have the CS2 disc and serial # for install but cannot find the disc or serial # for CS. Both programs and files are still on the machine. Is the serial # for CS inside a file somewhere? Or do I just wait until Monday to contact support (tried tonight but no go until Monday as they are 'down')

Appreciate any help.

Ron

Found the serial number in my old account with Adobe. Looks like I may need to find a download for CS, use my serial number and I'll be up and running. I can't seem to find a download for the 'ancient' CS program.

There is only one possible source that you will find such an old download.

Google: Adobe Photoshop CS 8.0 TPB

Thanks for the link, I'll give it a whirl.

I was able to upload CS2 and it found the old CS files after I went into safe mode and took ownership of the files. Back in business!

You might want to read up on the rules…

Yeah, I Googled the ...TPB link and the software I had said to stay away from the site, etc.

After going through all of this I also found the original Photoshop CS disc....go figure.

Thanks for the help gang, much appreciated.
