Kev, great work on that first one of your boy. Glad he's younger than my oldest and older than my youngest (if you follow). Don't need my guys facing that kinda wall in goal!!! Tim Howard, watch out!

wow really nice... im still striving to get to those type of shots...
i like #1 alot... and yes he has heart as it takes a lot for a keeper to dive... my son was in net for 4 games this weekend at tournaments.. we are flight 3 (should be 4 as we are a new team) and we played a flight 1, 2 and 2-3's....

Thanks, guys. He's really put a lot of time into his keeper training. Fortunately, he's been part of 2 clubs who offer top quality keeper training. I would not want to be a keeper; they're either the hero or the scape-goat.

IMO a keeper is the product of his defense. While he can make great saves, cause he's an awesome keeper, if his defense is a sieve, he's in trouble, and it ain't his fault. And no, I'm not a keeper, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express.

BTW Nice shots.

That's very true. Lapses in defense can really put a keeper to work, not to mention really tick them off, too.

that is what happened to us.. our u12 coach runs a trap.. keeps defense up far away from keeper.. works great.. 38 off sides.. haha.. but we lost 7-1 cuz they were fast... and our fast players were out.. so my son got blasted..... he even jumped... smacked ball down... then he dove ontop of it but it had a back spin.. he ran on all 4's... dove and as he was going down on it.. the guy got his foot in there (almost kicked my son in the face) and scored.. that is the kind of stuff my son was letting in (1 was he dove but ball traveled faster than his light body could fall... )
