Well, the title was "bestowed" on me as we were in the final stages of the very invoved discussion which directly led to the "HAMSTTR" acronym -- I don't recall how long ago that was, but I was involved at some point and made some pretty "Long...winded" posts. CyberDyneSystems was also involved, and he was the one who dubbed it all HAMSTTR, and I have a sneaky suspicion that he had something to do with my title:)!

I think my CS5 is set to sGRB, here is a screen shot:

The image that's opened is in AdobeRGB.
Photoshop tells you so:

About the color settings: As said, tick the boxes. The rest doesn't matter if you are just opening images: The default RGB space only get's used when you go File > New… in PS.

Explanation: www.getcolormanaged.com/color-management/pscolorsettings/ (external link)

Photoshop can not be embedding sRGB into AdobeRGB images. So my guess is you either were working on an sRGB image, converted the image to sRGB, copy-pasted an image into a new document, or were using "Save for web".

Wow! I can feel for you -- I had a similar time a few years ago...

I know there are so many people who go through things like this. The commiseration helps. :)

Sorry to hear that.
But real life is more important then the internet…

Take care.
