I've spent the last week taking part in a production of Chess, The Musical. This was performed by a community theatre group called The Limelight Productions
, in the town of Dunfermline - perhaps most famous for being the birthplace of one Andrew Carnegie, who I believe had quite an impact in the US!
Anyway, here are a few pictures from the show. Most were taken by a friend of mine - Martin Quinn - and I then processed the photographs he had taken.
1. This is the theatre we were using - it's one of Scotland's larger theatres, with a capacity of over 1600 people

2. The Arbiter (in the red coat) explains the story of Chess. Meanwhile a bunch of dancers act out salient points in his story (I'm the guy in white, centre of the picture)

3. The inhabitants of the Tyrolean town of Merano, Italy, welcome the Chess players (gotta love those dancers!)

4. "One Night In Bangkok" is one of the most famous songs from this show. Here, one of the dancers is dancing in front of a light, which faces the audience, projecting her silhouette into a gauze.

5. Here... oh, forget the story, it's too complex. These two are sad!

6. Right, this one I took. On stage, with an audience watching! I was playing the part of a reporter - in fact, a photographer. So I put my 5DII onto a bar with a flashgun, and actually took some pictures. This looks so much like the usual melee of a celebrity press conference I was impressed!

7. One of the programme photos. I've said it before, I'll say it again - gotta love 'em dancers!
