I own the Radio Popper JRx system, and would like to use my 430EX ii as fill flash on camera while still triggering my JRx system. I own a 60D, so I don't have access to a PC port. Has anyone used the Yungnuo FC-681 (external link) to solve this issue?

M.

Looks good, as long as you are able to neatly contain the cable..:):)

You can't use E-TTL and the JRx system. It'll only allow manual flash trigger.

60D has a wireless E-TTL flash trigger system that will work with your 430ex IIs. You should be able to trigger two groups A & B. Set one of your flash to A slave and the second one to B slave. Disable the pop-up flash for image exposure. You should be able to control the flash ratio between group A and B from the camera menu which is a bit cumbersome. Keep in my that this would be an optical trigger. Indoors, the bounce flash should be enough to trigger the slaves even though you don't have a line of sight.

Experiment with this before you buy any other gear.

You have not understood my question.

Unfortunately, the JRx don't connect via PC Port. They connect via the hotshoe.

What I really wanted to know was if anyone has been successful using an ETTL flash on the hot with a manual trigger on the end of the Yungnuo FC-681 unit.

hbomb69 seems to think it will work, so I guess I will give it a shot. 15$ on ebay ain't a big loss if it doesn't work.

The JrX transmitter has a port that a flash sync cable can be connect to in addition to the flash foot sync contacts.

Enjoy! Lon

Yep, flash on the hotshoe, cable from Lon to connect the camera PC port to the transmitter.

Unfortunately, Canon has done away with the sync port on the 60D.

Something like this should help.

Tim, do you use a bracket or do you just put the skyport transmitter on top of your flash? Im trying to figure out a better way to mount my triggers while having the 580 on the hotshoe. Currently, i have a bracket that mounts at the tripod socket under the camera and the cactus is on the left side of the camera, connected via pc sync. It doesnt help that the cactus doesnt have a flat side that wouldve allowed me to mount the trigger on top of the hot shoe flash.

The link I posted earlier spells out what I do pretty clearly. I put a flash in the hotshoe and I velcro the skyport transmitter to the side of the flash head, attached to the camera sync port with a locking sync cable.

Found it in a different post on your link, thanks. The first post had no description on how or where you mount your trigger; only mentioned that your trigger is connected via pc sync. I only bothered to read through the first post; thinking it would be comprehensive enough.

Thanks for the help, i suggest you edit your first post on that thread, preferably with an image of the actual camera setup just to be a bit more thorough.

Ah yeah I could do that some time, next time I get the lot out. It's a bit of a pita to drag it all out, it's damn heavy!
