The Odin transmitter needs to be on the cameras hot shoe, but you could use a pass through E-TTL cable with either the Odin or the on camera flash on the cable.

Or, you could put the on camera flash on a bracket with another odin reciever in a different group.

Unfortunately there is a pre-flash in both manual and ettl.

So there are some issues with both light meter and optic slaves (such as those in studio lights).

This may have been answered already and I just over looked it. Can the Odin's trigger studio strobes also? Everything seems to be about flash units that I have read.

Yes, there is a port on the receiver. They even supply the cords for you.

… But for just triggering strobes, I'd get the Stratos2, since they are cheaper.

I just wanted to make sure they can if I use them instead of flashes. But will remember stratos2 for future. Thanks!

You can mix the stratos 2 receiver with the Odin transmitter, so of you have the Odin and want to trigger a manual flash it's cheaper than buying another odin receiver.

I tried my light meter with the Odin in and no trouble getting reading with the flash in manual.
My sekonic has a flash detection mode that simple detects the brightest flash so the reading you get is from the main flash.
The problem os you have to take a photo to ge the reading.

That's good news, the test fire button would obviously be better but thats better than no option at all if you really needed to meter.

What model Sekonic is that your using?

Just a 308, nothing fancy, but I only use it for metering lights.

Good to know, as I was aware that the Odin releases a pre flash in both ettl and Manual.

Shot my first family session with the Odin's this weekend. Worked great, no moss fires, ettl worked flawlessly. These things and simple and just work!

Ooer, got one Odin TCU and 3 receivers now - a bit scared to take them out of the boxes - just in case they don't work!!!

Does anyone know if multiple flashguns can be used per group. Lets say one for group A, one in group B, and two flashes for group C.
