Anyone upgrade yet? At least we got "fast exit". That's pretty useful to me.

If I were to get a set of Phottix Odin, does anyone know whether there's a way to wirelessly communicate them with my Sekonic lightmeter the way I can do with PW's?

No there isn't. Plus the pre-flash would pose a problem as well. these are best used in ETTL mode.

Well guys, seems like we are in for a disappointment, this is the "Official" reply on the Phottix journal page

I would suggest we all post replies on the journal, just to let these guys know how we feel about this

Per your suggestion, I posted a reply several hours ago, and it is still awaiting approval before being published. I wonder how many others have submitted similar comments without getting approval for publication..

My comment about MAC support has been pending approval for around 24 hours.

I would only have bought these for the manual control. Looks like its the PW IIIs for me.

Just a question before I buy this.

Does the EX 1 series flashes work with Odin? The ETTL & Manual wireless control.
Or does it only work with EX II series flashes?

As far as I know it supports all Canon flashes, even the old ones. Search this post as lots of people have asked and commented on the supported flashes.

With the TCU being quite big, im surprised they missed an opportunity to include an AF Assist feature.... night shooting is a pain without it

I did a shoot today with the Odins. I was wondering if anyone experienced "flash lag" after you fire your shutter button?

what happened was that I had a 2 lights setup. 1 main and 1 hairlight. Both 580exII. After I fired off my shutter, the hairlight went off but the main light seemed to be alittle laggy/slow to fire, thus my subject wasnt lighted up. Happened like 3 shots in a row. In the end I had to take out my main light and mount straight on the camera as it was a job and I couldnt take any risk.

Anyone experienced that before?

I think that happened to me yesterday for the first time but i i'm not so sure.. i mean, somthing strange happened and the first thing I thought was "lag"? I have to pay attention also because i have been having some regular misfires and that is other thing that never happened. The flash was recharged and I can only point the receivers batteries.. but they are good.. so, need to do some more tests to confirm these.

I just updated the firmware.. don't know if it is related.
