Love that first one. Did you use a 10 stop filter on these?

I bought that filter awhile ago and keep forgetting to bring it with me. When you use it, how do you determine what the exposure should be and composition? I'm assuming you can't see through the viewfinder very well?

You have to compose the photo before screwing on the filter. I use the rule talked about in the 9 and 10 stop thread and multiply my shutter speed by 1000

Not if you use LV and put the dial on Bulb exposure. :)

Anyway, nice set, I love the shots! Really unique takes on Chicago.

I don't think LV would work with the filter on

Give it a shot, that's how I focus all my long exposure shots: with Live View set on Bulb.

*correction*, you're not able to take a shot longer than 1/30th of a second, but you can sufficiently focus and compose using this mode, on the 5DII anyway. I can't comment on the 7D, other than I (perhaps incorrectly) assume it's the same.

Thanks man. I'm pretty proud of 3 and 8 because I spent time trying to make images that looked exactly like what I was seeing, and except for the zoom effect I think I did that.
