Family Photo

Would love some C&C on this as it is my first real attempt at a family photo. Any advise on what would make it better would be much appreciated.

Good posing, happy looking family, seems fairly well lit (although I'd let other people comment on this since I'm still in the learning stages of lighting) The only thing bother me about this photo is the blue background (I'm biased and hate most studio shots--I just love outdoors more, but that's not your fault and certainly isn't always an option.) Another thing killing me about this photo (and is DEF not your fault) is the woman's pink dress. It just doesn't go with everyone else's outfits. At the same time, she's reasonably well covered by the younger son. Otherwise, IMO, not a bad attempt.

I like the lighting too. Something seems weird about the crop or something though. Are those kids standing on stools to get them up closer to the parents level?

Yes, they where standing on a coffee table. What do you think is wrong with the crop, I thought it looked alright

Sorry, crop might not have been the right word. To me, it looks odd because the children are so tall or disproportionate. I dont think anyone will care though. Im sure they love that shot. Its beautiful!
