Didn't know if this counted as Macro as it was actually shot with a 300mm so figured I'd put it here. Small sand crab I saw at Bolivar Flats (Texas)

I was thinking a sand crab if that's even a real crab haha... never hear of ghost crab... Thanks for the ID :D

The mole crab is what I've always thought of as a sand crab. Or at least what it was always called when I was growing up. They look more like giant mutant fleas than crabs. Used to always dig them up at the beach as a kid.

Definitely a Ghost Crab. Or at least thats what we call them around here. Tons of the little guys running up and down the beach at home. And I do mean RUNNING! Good that you got this close to one for a shot.


Building the collection slowly..... 7D gripped, 550D gripped and some gLass.... and some other glass.... and some lights....more strobes than you can shake a stick at.... Just a hobby gone out of control....
