I am in need of some help/advice regarding a remote controller for my 300D (ok, I know it is very old skool but I just cannot afford to upgrade right now).

Please can anyone tell me what the difference is between the RC-1 and RC-5 and which you would consider to be the better option. I am wanting it for night time aviation shoots so any help or advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Well first of all they don't make either of those remote releases anymore, they are both discontinued. Secondly, I'm not sure either would have worked with your camera anyway because I don't think your camera is capable to use IR? The Canon RC-6 is the newest version and it doesn't list your camera on there. I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure it won't work. Just buy a wired remote release.
