Elk in Benezette, PA

If I stand as still as a statue, maybe no one will notice me!!!

I have been walking around in those woods for the last 33 years of my life. Pretty amazing, and sad to see the changes the herd has gone through in that time. Although its neat to see these amazing creatures up close and personal, at the same time its so sad.

Anymore I feel there are 2 very distinct and different groups of elk in that area. The ones that hang around residential/farm land that are accustomed to people and there is still a very wary set that roam the deep woods.

I will be heading towards Benezette in a month for my annual deer camp excursion. Thanks for sharing the pic, got me excited for the trip!

Glad you enjoyed!! Wish you well on your hunting trip. My hubby and I hunt also. We recently finished hanging new stands and just doing a little property maintainance. Headed up to Cabela's in Hamburg, PA this Sunday. He is interested in a crossbow. Just seeing that store gets the adrenaline pumping!!!

Western Pa, definately has good hunting !!!

Family members from there like to head to Kentucky, they say large size deer.
