I hope I have this sized correctly for posting. I know I should do something with her hair. I'm learning LR3 at the moment and will see what can be done.

Yeah... I don't know what I was thinking with that previous white balance. This one is cropped, white balanced for daylight and a few other miscellaneous changes. Better? Any suggestions or tips?

Yeah, I'd say the crop helps. Haven't checked color balance by the numbers of either image but my eyes tell me I'd prefer something in between these two. The second might be more accurate by the numbers but just seems too cool, not as pleasing.

I believe the edit is too cool also. Here's my edit. What do you think?

Sorry Kevin but I prefer the original uncropped but lightened a bit to bring out her eyes (I added a catchlight) - set white point and brighten the midtones a bit:

No reason to be sorry Spike, that's why I posted here. I do like yours better. What did you use to set the white point?

Thanks Christopher and Bob. I appreciate the input. I like your edit as well Bob, except that it looks like we're getting a bit bright on the arms.

Now... I know there was a section about messy hair in that LR3 book.......

I like the original. The crop is OK and so is the color.

The first one is fine. The white balance matches the season.

I used levels -select the eye dropper for whites and clicked on the upper white flower to the left of the seam. I also moved the midtone slider a bit.

Definitely like the warmer color. Could cool it off if you want, but just a touch, not as much as the second one you posted. It makes her look to cold.

why change something good? from the above, i like the first one better. sometimes, i find myself warming up few images after correcting WB. not accurate WB? so what if the picture looks better.

Spike amendments added more pop to it, which is the only thing needed in my opinion.

Thank you all for the comments and advice.... Seems I've had a g+ snafu and the first photo is gone. I'll see about getting it back when I get home tomorrow.
